Recreation Coordinator

Job Description

This part time position is responsible for (but not limited to) planning, marketing, and operations for the Club’s recreational programming including the OVF Alliance Rec League, camps, clinics, after school programs, winter programming, and additional training (in-person & digital). 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operational aspects of the OVF Alliance Rec League (U6, U8, U10, etc.), ensuring that players are receiving aligned and appropriate coaching and curriculum from each community-based coaching staff.

  • Oversee all operational aspects of  summer, fall break, winter break, and spring break camp programs.

  • Oversee all operational aspects afterschool, inservice days, and satellite camp programs. 

  • Oversee all operational  aspects of our winter programming (Indoor @ CSP; Futsal with Black Lions League). 

  • Collaborate with the Communications Group to manage  all marketing aspects of the recreational programs. This includes but is not limited to: club social media platforms (Frequent posts to Facebook and Instagram), Stack Team ads, PeachJar, etc.

  • Manage and recruit staff in partnership with the Technical Director and Executive Director. 

  • Respond in a timely and professional manner to all communication from club membership, staff, and board members via email, phone calls, and text message.

  • Attend Staff meetings regularly.

  • Coach in programs as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants for the above position must:

  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of the game of soccer.

  • Have prior experience working with elementary or junior high aged children. 

  • Have good organizational skills as detailed planning, documentation, and management of program details will be a large portion of the job. 

  • Posses computer and technology skills including website management, database management, and mass communications.

  • Be a team player. The Recreation Coordinator often works as part of a larger team. 

  • Have good written and verbal skills and be able to communicate effectively with players, coaches, parents, other staff, potential sponsors, and program partners. 

  • Be available (at least virtually) for OVF Alliance Office hours.  

  • Be available year round as programs are run seasonally. When programs are not running, the “off season” will be when most of the planning and preparation for the coming programs takes place. 

  • Pass a background check and complete a youth safety course. This position will require extensive contact with youth and minors as well as adults. 

  • Be able to lift up to 30 pounds or heavier. Position will require lifting/moving goals, training gear, and other equipment. 

  • Be committed to youth development: A genuine passion for working with young players and helping them develop both their soccer skills and personal character is essential.

Pay

  • $750 - $1000/month based on experience, education, and expertise.

  • 10% commission for each sponsorship sold to support the OVF Alliance Rec League.

  • Bonuses available for meeting certain player number targets for each program.

  • Reimbursement for approved coaching education courses and certifications.

OVF Alliance Coach

Job Description

OVF Alliance is always seeking qualified coaches to join our staff. We have programs from 5 years old up to 18 years old with a variety of coaching opportunities in that range. Head coaches of competitive teams, assistance coaches for our pre-competitive and competitive teams, and coaches focused solely on assisting in camps, clinics, and other recreational programs we run.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants for the above position must:

  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of the game of soccer.

  • Have prior experience working with elementary, junior high, or high school aged children.

  • Have good written and verbal skills and be able to communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff.

  • Pass a background check and complete a youth safety course. This position will require extensive contact with youth and minors as well as adults. 

  • Be able to lift up to 30 pounds or heavier. Position will require lifting/moving goals, training gear, and other equipment. 

  • Be committed to youth development: A genuine passion for working with young players and helping them develop both their soccer skills and personal character is essential.

  • Hold at least a grassroots level coaching qualification (and be willing to pursue further education) as required by OYSA.

Pay

  • +$500/month per team based on experience, education, and expertise.

  • Options to receive additional pay for assisting other teams or programs that may need coaches throughout the year. 

  • The option to have any dependent's player fees covered (case by case basis).

  • Reimbursement for approved coaching education courses and certifications.
