Men prepare for upcoming rematch with Ballard & matchup against Oly Town FC

Albany, Oregon: Sunday afternoon’s matchup between the men of OVF Alliance and Ballard FC was the game of the weekend. Having not yet faced each other up until this point in the season, it was an exciting, competitive, back and forth game that had fans on the edge of their seats for the full 90 minutes. However by the final whistle, OVF Alliance was left empty handed as they lost 2-1.

OVF wasted no time creating chances early in the first half. From the first whistle they were brimming with confidence, stringing passes together and maintaining a steady amount of possession. They eventually got on the scoresheet in the 16th minute through Arturo Bahena, who scored his third goal of the season after he used his lightning quick pace to get in behind the defenders and capitalize on the counter attack.

OVF nearly made it to halftime without any trouble, but Ballard FC were able to get a goal of their own to level the scoreline right before the break. Both teams came out firing in the second half, with Ballard attempting to halt the efforts of the OVF Alliance men any way that they could. Despite OVF’s defensive efforts, Ballard FC managed to grab their second goal of the game and take the lead in the 56th minute of the game. The game remained tight and hard-fought for the remainder of the half, but Ballard managed to come out on top after 90 minutes.

OVF Alliance still sits in 3rd place in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference with a game in hand over a few of the other teams in the table. OVF hits the road this weekend up in Washington as they look to bounce back in a rematch against Ballard FC on Friday, June 24th and grab 3 points against Oly Town FC on Sunday, June 26th.
